Broadway Producer and Media Executive

A three-time Tony Award-winning producer, Kevin McCollum leads the theatre and media company Alchemation which, since 2011, has produced Something Rotten!, Motown the Musical, Hand to God, and the theatrical web series Submissions Only. He also co-founded The Booking Group, which has represented several Tony Award-winning plays and musicals. Mr. McCollum won his three Tony Awards for Best Musical for In the Heights (2008), Avenue Q (2004), and Rent (1996).

An alumnus of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Kevin McCollum graduated from the school in 1984 and later completed a master’s degree in film producing from the University of Southern California’s Peter Stark Program. He produced his first musical, Damn Yankees, in 1994. The production received four Tony Award nominations and three Drama Desk nominations. Mr. McCollum then produced Twilight: Los Angeles 1992, The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, and What’s Wrong With This Picture?

Mr. McCollum also produced Private Lives (2002), La Bohème (2002), Avenue Q (2003), and The Drowsy Chaperone (2006), which won received five Tony Awards, including Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score, and Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Musical. His other productions include High Fidelity (2006), Ragtime (2009), Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo (2011), and Hand to God (2014),  More recently, he produced The Play That Goes Wrong (2017), Six (2021), and Mrs. Doubtfire (2021). 

 In addition to his involvement in theatre, Mr. McCollum executive produced the film versions of Jeffrey (1995), Rent (2005), and In the Heights (2021), and is one of the producers of the acclaimed 2021 film adaptation of West Side Story. He received the Robert Whitehead Award for Outstanding Commercial Theatre Producing and spent three years as Distinguished Visiting Professor at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
